30% off Batts! Today Only!
There are lots of yummy batts in the Etsy Store and right now they are 30% off!! (This applies to regularly priced batts only) Hurry they are on sale for today only.
There has been another update also.
(starting from left top corner)
Shimmer is a set of coordinating batts and weighs 3.8 ounces total.
Sugar and Spice weighs 2 ounces and contains some yummy bamboo (among others).
On The Farm is a sentimental favorite. It contains Cormo from my colored Cormo cross, Leah.
Christmas Candy Farm Fresh Soap smells just like peppermint candy, but don’t eat it!

Stash Busting!
I have found the perfect pattern for stash busting my smallish skeins of handspun! WabiSabi Mitts are knitted flat then seamed but the beauty of it is that you knit two at a time and then stop when you run out of yarn! I love it!
Please note if you search for them on Ravelry use WabiSabiMitts. It won’t show up if you put in spaces.
I have also been knitting the multi-directional scarf like crazy! It is another great stash buster.
These patterns work great for phatfiber samples! I spin them all together either after blending them into a batt or spinning each separately into one yarn. It make a great funky mitt or scarf.
This is a set of warmies I am making for my daughter using the WabiSabi Mitts, The multi-directional scarf (knitted more narrow for use as a headband) and little cowl. (I will have to look up the name for that one)
As you can see on the top of the mitts I used the left over handspun I had from the last mitts (I was foolishly hoping to get two pairs out of one skein) and finished the mitts using my phatfiber sample yarn.
Here is a close up of the yarn. How fun and funky is that?

What’s new?
I am busy adding a few new yarns to the shop :)
Scarecrow is the second in my Wizard of Oz series.
This is the last skein I have left of The Wandering Shepherdess (a full sized version of a phatfiber sample from ages ago).
Water is a beautiful yarn. 60% Merino, 40% Silk and 540 yards per skein. I have three skeins available, enough to make a beautiful sweater. It is sweater season you know!
I have been working steadily on December’s Phatfiber Box. The theme is Music Box and two of my favorite musicals are My Fair Lady and Phantom of the Opera. I am working on colorways to represent them both.
This colorway is I Could Have Danced All Night, which is my favorite song in the movie!

Nothing says take a break like sick kids…
My sister and her husband are out of town attending a medical missions conference. That means I have a house full of kids (which I love) but I have spent the whole morning cleaning up vomit (I don’t love that).
Needless to say the plans for today have been halted. (No zumba makes me very sad!) My office has turned into a temporary baby room and the basement is the sick room. However, as I sit here doing not the things I planned or feel like I needed to, I find myself thankful for the quiet, the excuse to sit…I think I will spend the day watching movies with the kids in between the necessary clean ups.
If you are waiting on packages from me they will go out tomorrow. :) I have clocked out for the day.

Happy Friday!!
Good Morning! The yarn has been rinsed and it is ready to hang dry, new supplies have been ordered, pictures taken, day planned and I am just about to leave for zumba. I love productive mornings!
I have begun the dyeing for the November Farm Fresh Care Package Fiber Club. Wanna see?
:-)
I also have some yummy, yummy soap to show off…
Christmas Candy soap has a wonderful peppermint smell and produces a creamy lather. Yum!!! I will let you know when it’s in the Etsy store.
Finally, I wanted to show you the beautiful swap package I received from PrettyPurly but I left my box in the van after showing it off at spin guild (it’s cold here in MI, I wasn’t up to the run outside to the van) so that will have to wait until next post. But….check out her beautiful stuff!
Talk to ya later….it’s time for Zumba!!

It’s Fall!!
It has been a lovely warm fall here in Michigan. The last couple of days are the first that I have really felt the need for a coat. Today I am sporting my fuzzy pink sweater :) It was only 66 degrees in the house this morning (the farmer likes it cold, his wife does not)!
The sweater was knitted by Evelyn from The Old Farm Girl. By the way did I show you the hat she made me? I didn’t?
In other news… with fear and trepidation I have decided to join in on the Bramble Berry Swap Your Heart Out soap swap. I have been making my soaps for about 2 years now and selling a little here and there for about a year. I have decided to ramp it up a bit and sell more and thought this would be a great way to push myself.
Today’s Etsy update includes lots and lots of batts :) Don’t forget there’s 15% off everything (even those things already discounted!) through the rest of the week.
November’s Phatfiber Samples full sized versions are also going in the store today.
King of the Forest is 270 yards, 75% Wool, 25% Nylon and is the first in my Wizard of Oz Colorway series. Watch for the Scarecrow coming soon!
Stratosphere is my loose interpretation of the Phatfiber November theme Seasons of light. It is such a lovely theme but it had me completely stumped! I kept coming back to stars which give light and settled on Stratosphere….
and Milky Way.
Next month’s theme is Music Box, thankfully I am not low on ideas for that one!

Show and tell…
I have been spending every spare minute lately updating the Etsy Store. Here’s a few of today’s additions:
I am also very pleased to report that although it has been very slow going I am finally able to spin using my Russian Support Spindle!
I also have a FO to show off! This beautiful yarn came from my hand dyed Alpaca, Cormo and silk blend. I am thrilled with how it turned out.
